An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) strike team entered Gaza overnight Wednesday into Thursday to attack anti-tank defenses in preparation for a ground invasion that has long been anticipated, the IDF said.

Leaders with Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad met Wednesday to discuss their ongoing war against Israel.

Hezbollah official Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri and Islamic Jihad chief Ziad al-Nakhala spoke Wednesday about the conflict.

"An assessment was made of the international positions being taken and what the parties of the Axis of Resistance must do [...] to realize a real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestinian and to halt the brutal aggression," a communiqué from Hezbollah said.

More than 20 service members have reported minor injuries so far as a result of the Iran-backed attacks on U.S. positions in Iraq and Syria, according to a Defense Department official.

Several American troops stationed in the Middle East have reported symptoms of traumatic brain injury following rocket and drone attacks launched by Iran proxies over the past week, according to two U.S. officials with knowledge of the incidents.

“There have been a few reports of TBIs as well as some minor injuries from service members,” said one of the U.S. officials, using the acronym for “traumatic brain injuries.”

However, the injured service members have all been returned to duty, added the official, who like others interviewed for this story was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Hamas Delegation Visits Moscow, Discusses Release of Hostages in Gaza - Agencies

MOSCOW (Reuters) -A delegation from Hamas visited Moscow on Thursday for talks on the release of foreign hostages including Russian citizens that the militant group is currently holding in Gaza, Russian news agencies reported, citing the foreign ministry.

Senior Hamas member Abu Marzouk was among those attending the talks, TASS reported.

"Contacts were held with him in continuation of the Russian line on the immediate release of foreign hostages in the Gaza Strip. Issues related to ensuring the evacuation of Russian and other foreign citizens from the territory of the Palestinian enclave were also discussed," TASS said.

Russia has ties to all key players in the Middle East, including Israel, Iran, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, the militant Islamist group that controls Gaza.

Moscow has repeatedly blamed the current crisis on the failure of U.S. diplomacy, and called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the resumption of talks aimed at finding a peace settlement.
