Rush Limbaugh used to say that the only way the Israeli/Palestinian conflict ends is when one side is wiped out by the other

I agreed with him then  and I still agree with that statement. The likes of  HAMAS and Hezbollah  are not interested at all in any kind of peace with Israel

If Israel hopes to end these kind of attacks, they have to operate with a very heavy hand and be brutal. World opinion be damned.

Agree.  This "hurry up and wait" approach is working against Israel ---- it's emboldening Lebanon and Hezbollah and shifting world opinion away from the right to defend to retaliation.

Israel's Achilles heel seems to be putting the PR war ahead of the military war ----- and they could end end up winning neither.

The Israeli government said Saturday that it would not negotiate with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas over the release of between 100 and 200 Israeli and international hostages, because it was destroying the organization and not trying to save it.

Tzachi Hanegbi, the head of Israel’s National Security Council, said that the days of negotiating for hostages were over. While Israel was trying to rescue the hostages, it would not hostage prisoner exchanges or stop its military operation in Gaza.

No, NATO and the U.S. Navy are sealing off Gaza from Iranian (and Turkish) seaborne reinforcement and resupply.  The weather is bad for the next few days, limiting aerial surveillance targeting, so they're taking their time before going in. 

Urban fighting is bad enough, so why make it even harder than necessary?
