‘IMPEACH the BUM or Fade into OBLIVION!’ Trump unloads on Republicans for not impeaching Biden
August 28, 2023 | Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Former President Trump has had it with House Republicans tiptoeing around impeaching President Joe Biden and blasted them on Sunday night, telling them to either impeach him or lose it all.

He was understandably furious after Biden has been allowed to skate on all his alleged crimes while politically persecuting a former president who questioned election results which is his constitutional right.

Trump posted the scathing indictment of the GOP on his Truth Social account and he finally let loose what everyone is thinking concerning the brazen corruption that all of America has been witnessing.

“The Republicans in Congress, though well meaning, keep talking about an Impeachment ‘Inquiry’ on Crooked Joe Biden,” the former president began. “Look, the guy got bribed, he paid people off, and he wouldn’t give One Billion Dollars to Ukraine unless they ‘got rid of the Prosecutor.’”

Once again, Mr. Trump demonstrates his inability to think things through.  What happens if the House impeaches Biden right now?  The Senate fails to convict and Biden is, for all intents and purposes, immune from further impeachment.

Think, Mr. Trump, think.  For once in your excesively privileged life, think things through first, before you open your big fat yap.

I guess Trump doesn’t see that Biden would still have a Senate to (barely) exonerate him.

So it’s almost, what is the point?

Although I’m totally sympathetic with the idea they should press the issue anyway.

People who believe that "everyone" thinks as they do need to grow up.  Quite clearly, "everyone" does not agree that impeaching Biden is a good idea.

I guess the point is revenge impeachment, not that the SOB doesn't deserve it.

Unless there is a 2/3 GOP majority in the Senate, there is no way in chance in hell that once impeached Biden will be removed from Office. It will be a waste of time and effort. How about we nominate who can in so Biden can leave office?

Do we really want a POTUS who is 100% obsessed with revenge?

That is what he is turning into.

Dumb ass.

Tit for tat throwing poo means the value of impeachment itself will diminish. Next thing you know, and sooner than you think, it will be regular fare to impeach the current president, and it will mean nothing.

Impeachment has to mean you've got the goods... AND that you have a chance in hell of a conviction in the senate. Otherwise it's useless.

It seems every POTUS since Nixon minus the punk POTUS Obama due to race card  has had some form of Impeachment buzz.  The whole process has turned into a poltical tool instead of what the founding fathers intended. OTHOH...  The present occupant is one of few whot truly needs to be impeached, convicted, and imprisoned.

But like we all know..... unicorns riding skittle rainbows is more likely than getting 17 senate dims voting for conviction.

That's right... a nonsensical waste of time. Tumpsters need to wipe the blood from their eyes and see... and more importantly, think.

Actually I think Dems have wanted revenge impeachment since Klintoon.

Trump gave them an easy target.  Not that it’s right, but as we know, Don and his Big Mouth make it easy to a)hate him and b) have him “incriminate” himself because he doesn’t have any filter on himself.

If he is elected, that will be his presidency

Revenge and retribution. And although that would make his supporters happy, it would be bad for the country, and it wouldn’t advance any type of meaningful agenda or reforms
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

To me, it seems that a great many Trump supporters are motivated more by a desire for catharsis than actual accomplishments.

That is true... and before that, maybe.

That's right too - Though I think they would meaningfully threaten the same against any non-democrat. He DID make it easy for them, being a loudmouth with no machine to keep them off him. And 'no machine' is a direct result of his interface with his own party. I think he made it easy to hang him out to dry.

Now, maybe that's him, maybe that's them. we don't know the truth behind closed doors. But the fault stops right at the top... so that is inevitably his.

But my concern is with the overuse of impeachment law for political purposes.

I think it does massive damage to the law itself. Kinda like what has happened to the Nobel prize. It has become a caricature of what it once was and what it meant, because it has become a willing prostitute for political forces... It means nothing anymore.

And that, sorta, is what is happening to the impeachment process, IMHO.

That's how I see things as well. You are absolutely correct we need meaningful reforms.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I think you don't understand, Sneaks.

Liberals abuse institutions precisely so that we will too - And in doing so, destroy that institution (or law in this case). Retaliation and retribution is exactly where they want you to go.

It's a trick bag, I know. You can't allow the abuse, and the remedy, off the cuff, is to fight back - Eye for an eye and all that... But that ain't far-seeing... And a hot head has no eye toward consequence.

I am asking you to look down the road and see the consequence. And then find another path.

It would help you to look at the history of how socialist/communists take over a country.

It's just so telling when someone writes that "everyone says/thinks" followed by that person's personal opinion.   What they really mean is "everyone that I read or with whom  I discuss politics", which tells you the bubble in which they live.

This 100%.

Their goal is to destroy the institutions of democracy/republicanism.  If they can corrupt them, and then get us to destroy them from our end, they've won.   Because then, they'll replace them with their own kind of institutions that are rotted/biased by design.

So even though the temptation is to destroy the institutions they've corrupted, the correct - and harder - response is to fight the corruption and save the institution.

Now, the question is one of not being able to use the institutions to fight them, (DOJ FBI, Courts, press, all corrupt, impeachment won't work, elections compromised) then what means to fight this?
Last time something like this was defeated, it was orders of magnitude smaller.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
