Grieving parents found the body of their 14-year-old adopted son hugging his dead dog after the Maui wildfires — then carried him around half a mile to a police station to be confirmed among the dead.

Schoolboy Keyiro Fuentes had been home alone enjoying his last day of summer break when the deadliest US wildfires in a century started overwhelming his neighborhood in Lahaina, his mother, Luz Vargas, told CBS News.

The mom was working five miles away at the time — and unable to get home when she saw the smoke, despite begging cops to let her through their barriers.

When she and the rest of her family managed to search their home two days later, they found Keyiro’s charred body wrapped around his dead dog, the sobbing mom told CBS.

“He was not as I expected, in ashes,” she said of the body thought to have been preserved by the extreme heat.

“God maintained him like this. So, we knew it was him,” she said of her adopted son.

I really have to question the death toll numbers. They found everybody in the first Week when only about 25% had been searched? Doesn't pass the smell test.

It's confusing to the casual follower because only 'early' photos showed that residences and or businesses shared common walls...and flammable roofs.

Later photos showed similar devastation but to single-family detached properties with driveways and yards...but noticing that EVERY rubber tire on the burned out vehicles were dissolved.

How does a fire get THAT hot, where humans are broiled alive before they even get a chance to run?

When the winds are 60+ MPH, loose vegetation and/or trash blows into them period. If there's any fuel nearby it goes up in flames. Under those conditions you have to keep ALL the fuel cut way back to be effective. This country's standard of living is devolving...

Dozens of individuals reported missing in the aftermath of Maui's devastating wildfire have been reported to be safe.

The FBI announced Friday that over a hundred individuals in Hawaii included just hours earlier on their list of missing persons were confirmed alive by themselves or loved ones.

"I don't want to lose sight of the fact that we still have hundreds of other names where we still need more information," FBI special agent Steven Merrill told the press Friday.

In other words, the FBI jumped on board for a government-paid trip to Hawaii in $1,000 per night resorts.  Don't remember the FBI setting up camp in Plaquemine Parish, Louisiana searching for missing persons after Katrina.

In my role and job years ago,  I had emergency managment duties, and I will go on full record saying that the inability of the state and feds to establish a final head count within 12 days, is massively massively past any level of incompetence.   I can guarantee that there is a final dead and missing and presumed dead tally in place, and it is being withheld.

Something smells on this matter, and with a brain dead MSM having  no interest to embarass their dim masters, so we may never find out.
