Marcel Crok on climate hysteria

Marcel Crok was interviewed about The IPCC's The Frozen Climate Views, and the broader topic of climate hysteria, by The Laughland Report.

Crok talks about the role that scenarios play in the climate debate and the way in which the mainstream media reports on them. For example, in the fifth IPCC report (2013), the business as usual scenario (RCP 8.5) predicted 4 degrees of warming by 2100. In the sixth report (2021), the forecast is only 2.5 degrees of warming in 2100. Some people present this as a policy success!

But in fact, the IPCC has just moved from the highly implausible scenario RCP 8.5 to a more realistic scenario. The IPCC now admits, albeit only in one sentence in the latest report, that RCP 8.5 has a slim chance.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
