You got that right, Cyber.
The "old nation" (the one previously known as "The United States of America"), can't be "saved". It's in the process of being transmogrified into what it will eventually become, but whatever that is, it's NOT going to be anything that resembles "what it used to be".
Consider:
To "save" the existing union, the divided states (which is what they are now) would of necessity require a social/cultural "re-unification".
In all seriousness -- how is that going to happen?
How can there be a reconciliation between blue states that now have laws to shield parents from the fact that their children are being sexually mutilated, and the red states that have passed laws 180 degrees to the opposite?
How is a "re-union" based on mutual assent possible?
For the white/Christian heritage/Euro-heritage people who still harbor and respect "the traditional", we have come to "the parting of the ways" (the pic represents the actual wagon tracks that still exist):
We must go one way, and the leftist/DCommunist remnants of the old "America" can go theirs.
You know this in your hearts, but I sense many here are afraid to say so.
I am not.
Back in the 1770's, the American colonists faced the same dilemma.
They knew something had to be done to resolve the problems with Britain, although at the beginning, they didn't have an answer.
So... they called a meeting of the aggrieved states.
Of course it was called "The Continental Congress".
From that came the ideas, about their predicament and how to rescue themselves from same.
You know what came out of that.
We face the same dilemma.
It's time to walk the same path that the colonists and "founders" walked in their time.
Is it time yet for the new "Heartland Continental Congress"?
