After Title 42 expired, the Biden administration implemented a new rule that AG Paxton says is encouraging more illegal aliens to cross the border.Following the end of Title 42, Texas Attorney General Paxton is suing the Biden administration once again over a new rule implemented that allows illegal aliens to use an app to make appointments to be processed.
Earlier this year, the Biden administration announced that they would be implementing a new rule that would go into effect at the end of Title 42. While the policy assumes that illegal aliens are ineligible for asylum if they fail to claim asylum from another country they have entered or if they have entered the U.S. illegally, the administration also encourages them to download the CBP One app, which would allow them to set up an appointment at any point of entry to be processed.
“The Biden Administration deliberately conceived of this phone app with the goal of illegally pre-approving more foreign aliens to enter the country and go where they please once they arrive” said Paxton. “Joe Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas, and the entire Biden Administration have prioritized creating and protecting new ways for illegal aliens to stream into this country, no matter the cost or consequence to struggling American citizens. Time after time, my office has shown that we will fight back in court to defeat their unlawful open-borders policies. We intend to stop this rule from wreaking further havoc on the people of Texas.”
In the lawsuit, Paxton states that Texas will bear the brunt of illegal immigration due to Texas containing more than half of the border between Mexico and the United States with five ports of entry and will inflict costs on the state for expenditures like public education and unreimbursed healthcare.
