First they were on, then they were off.

And now the drag-queen group known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is back on again at Dodgers Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Monday that the team will stick to the original plan to honor the drag queens who dress like Catholic nuns, less than a week after disinviting them in response to pushback from conservative Catholics who accuse the group of mocking their religion.

The team also apologized to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, which describes itself as a “leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns,” after a backlash from activists, politicians and LGBTQ groups outraged by the decision to exclude the drag-performance group from Pride Night.

“After much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Los Angeles Dodgers would like to offer our sincerest apologies to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and families,” the Dodgers said in a statement.

“We have asked the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to take their place on the field at our 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16,” the team said.

Ridiculous to apologize. Sad that those in our society feel the need to apologize for drag queens.  The fact that they were dressed as nuns is a complete mockery, yet they apologize.  What a sick society we live in.

They should take their clue from Bud Light.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Can we just play baseball, please?  Why do we need to celebrate anybody's sexuality at a freaking sporting event?   9999hair out0000

Once an organization goes "woke", it is impelled to act in ways designed to alienate its core audience or consumers.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Until normal Dodger fans refuse to attend games and buy overpriced, pretzels and beer, going all Butt Lite on them it won't change and I doubt there are enough transgenders and other sexual deviates to keep the park profits rolling in...not to mention the ugly visuals of half full or less stadium.

Los Angeles Archbishop Calls Out LA Dodgers Over Trans Group That Mocks Catholic Nuns for 'Bigotry and Hate'
streiff
7–9 minutes

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles has issued a statement decrying the decision by the Los Angeles Dodgers to honor the sacrilegious and blasphemous drag group the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to their annual Pride Night on June 16.

The decision to honor a group that clearly mocks the Catholic faith and makes light of the sincere and holy vocations of our women religious who are an integral part of our Church is what has caused disappointment, concern, anger, and dismay from our Catholic community. The ministries and vocations of our religious women should be honored and celebrated through genuine acts of appreciation, reverence, and respect for their sacred vows, and for all the good works of our nuns and sisters in service of the mission of the Catholic Church. From providing a quality education for inner city students, to serving the sick, the homeless, the hungry and so many others in need, to caring for the souls of our faithful through prayer, our women religious have dedicated their lives to the Catholic faith and mission, sharing God’s loving grace with others. The Archdiocese stands against any actions that would disparage and diminish our Christian faith and those who dedicate their lives to Christ.

The Archdiocese calls on all Catholics and people of goodwill to stand against bigotry and hate in any form and to stand for respect for one another and for the religious beliefs of our communities of faith.  Let us also show our care and respect for our women religious by sending a message of support to their communities through phone calls, letters, and posts on their social channels, supporting vocations by donating to their orders, and/or making donations in their name to the programs they support. Let us show the world how much our women religious mean to us and our Church.

Clayton Kershaw pushed for Dodgers to announce Christian night in response to LGBTQ+ charity award
Chris Cwik
Tue, May 30, 2023, 3:23 PM EDT

Quote
The Los Angeles Dodgers moved up the announcement of their Christian Faith and Family Day because star pitcher Clayton Kershaw was unhappy the team chose to highlight the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a prominent LGBTQ+ charity.

[...]

"I think we were always going to do Christian Faith Day this year, but I think the timing of our announcement was sped up,” Kershaw said. “Picking a date and doing those different things was part of it as well. Yes, it was in response to the highlighting of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence [by the Dodgers].”

[...]

At least one other player has spoken out in support of Kershaw. Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams said he disagreed with the Dodgers' decision to reinvite the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to the park. Williams released his statement during the Nationals' series against the Dodgers.
