Here's our problem in a nut shell. If the conservative Pubs won't back the candidate if it's the populist Trump the conservative Pubs can't expect any support for their candidates. The only winner is the Rats. 

I know I'm on one side of this problem. I will only vote for a populist. I haven't seen conservatives accomplish much of anything.

Well, so far the only candidates that have announced are Trump, Haley and Hutchison.  I haven't heard Haley or Hutchison comment so it's hard to judge what kind of change they want.  I don't watch TV so I haven't seen any of their political ads.

You have a mighty optimistic outlook.  IMHO this Republic as we now know her isn't going to make it till '28.  What do you think millions of ILLEGALS are going to do to our country??  Supporting them is not sustainable.  Raise taxes to support them?  What about all the 'green' policies that are being set?  EV's, no gas stoves, air conditioning restrictions, etc.  Then there's the issue of AI impact on jobs.  ALL this WILL affect us long before '28.
