Nor will the rural counties in Washington state, regardless of how "pro-gun" the local sheriffs may be. They are still subservient to state law, and the state will go out of the way to drive that point home.

This is the west. And the Northwest besides. Any decent town you look at has more guns than most eastern states. And we not only won't give them up... we CAN'T. Around here  they are as necessary to life as anything.

That's right. And around here they will hold that line... Even Spokane county, which might be the only one to go shaky.

And besides, anything you want is a few hours away in ID, MT, OR and WY. And people cross those lines all the time.
