Let's step back a minute; DeSantis opened FL up in phases during COVID and that is why hundreds of thousands have moved to FL, we are considered a 'free state' as he has stood up to D.C. Our population has exploded. A concealed weapon's permit is no longer needed in FL to carry. His quick and continued response to Hurricane Ian is unbelievable. He also dealt with hurricane Nicole and Michael. The Heritage Foundation listed FL as #1 in Education Freedom and FL is now known as the education state. He has committed $5 billion to workforce education. He just signed the 6 week abortion bill. Those come to mind, but there are other accomplishments that he needs to be commended for.
I understand and agree with all that. Those are great accomplishments, but all we're hearing about now is the woke stuff. So as I said, I hope he broadens that message once he declares.
No, he hasn't announced and I will be surprised if he does decide to run.
I'd be shocked if he didn't. The recent announcements from people like Pompeo and Youngkin are further evidence to me that the anti-Trump forces in the GOP are clearing the deck for a single challenger. He's currently visiting early primary states, and independent PACs are continuing to collect money to support his campaign. If he
wasn't running, there are no advantages and plenty of disadvantages to him not making that clear. Just for starters, it would take him out of Trump's sights and end the distraction of the constant attacks.
But I imagine we'll know for sure in the next couple of weeks. If a Florida legislative session ends without a bill being passed enabling DeSantis to run without resigning his office, then we'll know he's out. If they pass it, we'll know he's in because they wouldn't bother otherwise.
