Biden claims he started writing book about technology changing the world

President Biden spoke in front of the Irish Parliament, revealing he was at one time working on a book relating to technology and society.

Biden made the comments Thursday during his speech in front of the Irish lawmakers, where he also claimed that he originally had no intentions of running for president.

"You know, I hadn't planned on running for president again in 2020," Biden said. "My son Beau, who had just died of stage four glioblastoma after coming back from Iraq after a year. He was the attorney general in Delaware. As a matter of fact, he should be the one standing her giving this speech to you."

"But, you know, I started to write a book talking about how technology has always changed the world. And we're in an inflection point in the world," the president said. "The technology is changing so rapidly and things are changing so significantly that it wasn't so much who led any country — it was the changes that are just happening at incredible speed. Incredible speed."

Biden pointed specifically to advances in artificial intelligence, saying that the growing sector of the tech industry will be a key factor in the world's future....................

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Can you imagine Joe trying to write anything? A check? A greeting on a birthday card?  :silly: Not going to happen.

He said he started.

Could be he almost came up with a title.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I wasn't aware lies were considered technology. :pondering:
The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
