Audrey Hale, the 28-year-old transgender artist turned school shooter who killed three children and three adults at the Covenant School in Nashville last week, plotted the attack for months, police revealed Monday.

Hale fired 152 shots during the attack, police said, 126 from 5.56 rifles and 26 from a 9mm handgun. Police had recovered two rifles and a pistol from the scene and several more at the suspect's home, including a sawed-off shotgun.

"In the collective writings by Hale found in her vehicle in the school parking lot, and others later found in the bedroom of her home, she documented, in journals, her planning over a period of months to commit mass murder at The Covenant School," police said in a statement.   ...

Her actual documents are still being reviewed by the FBI.

From a statistical standpoint, that's both a miracle and a sign of gross incompetence.

Very early reports were that she fired 100 rounds into the church doors...essentially destroying them.  There, she shot the 61 year old custodian.

Once inside, she walked directly to the staircase to the 2nd floor, where the administration offices are.

The 3 dead students were not in their classrooms, but in the principal's office (or similar place) wrong place wrong time.  As were the 2 other senior women victims.

So she really did target Covenant specifically, and didn't just decide on that church and school because its security wasn't as stringent as other locations? So many conflicting stories.

Police announced Monday that transgender shooter Audrey Hale had been planning an attack on the Christian elementary school for “months,” according to a press release.

Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) gave an update to the investigation into the mass shooting at Covenant School in a press release, noting that Hale’s manifesto indicated that she had been “planning over a period of months to commit mass murder.” Hale had also been studying the way other “mass murderers” had committed acts of violence and “acted totally alone,” according to police.

“In the collective writings by Hale found in her vehicle in the school parking lot, and others later found in the bedroom of her home, she documented, in journals, her planning over a period of months to commit mass murder at The Covenant School,” police said in the press release. “The writings remain under careful review by the MNPD and the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit based in Quantico, Virginia. The motive for Hale’s actions has not been established and remains under investigation by the Homicide Unit in consultation with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit.” ...
