General Michael Flynn Sues DOJ, FBI and US Government for $50 Million for Malicious Persecution and Gross Abuse of Power
Gateway Pundit, Mar 3, 2023

General Michael Flynn is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who was the 24th U.S. National Security Advisor for the first 22 days of the Trump administration. General Flynn, a staunch Trump ally and confidante, was forced to resign in 2017 following screaming reports that he had lied regarding conversations with Sergey Kislyak, a Russian diplomat.  This was while the Democrat Party and highest levels of US intelligence concocted an attempted coup to take down the sitting President based on what they knew was fraudulent accusations that Trump was Vladimir Putin’s stooge.  General Michael Flynn was collateral damage.  They had to remove him to get to Trump.

After he was set up and removed from White House, Flynn was persecuted by lawless Judge Emmet Sullivan in a case that was dropped by the DOJ.  But for months afterward, Judge Sullivan refused to dismiss the case.  For some reason, this crooked leftist judge decided to pursue the charges himself knowing there was nothing there.  President Trump eventually pardoned General Michael Flynn after the system persecuted him and failed him.

Since that time, the American public learned through court proceedings that charges should never have been filed against General Flynn.

On Friday, General Michael Flynn filed a lawsuit against his government.  General Flynn is suing the government for “unjustified and illegal actions, including but not limited to malicious prosecution and abuse of process.”

From the lawsuit that was filed this moments ago:

This lawsuit seeks accountability and damages against the United States for these wrongs committed against General Flynn through its agents and agencies. Specifically, General Flynn seeks relief herein for Defendant’s agents and agencies’ violations of his constitutional and other legal rights in connection with this wrongful and malicious prosecution and gross abuse of process.

Michael Flynn sues government over 'wrongful and malicious' prosecution
Just the News, Mar 3, 2023

Retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn on Friday filed a suit against the federal government seeking damages over what he called Washington's "wrongful and malicious" prosecution of him.

"As a direct and proximate result of Defendant’s actions, General Flynn suffered harm," his attorneys wrote in a filing with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. "He was falsely branded as a traitor to his country, lost at least tens of millions of dollars of business opportunities and future lifetime earning potential, was maliciously prosecuted and spent substantial monies in his own defense."

Flynn's complaint stems from the Department of Justice's prosecution of him over a 2017 interview with the FBI. He initially pled guilty but requested to withdraw from the plea agreement after the emergence of exculpatory evidence . Flynn was eventually pardoned after the DOJ asked to dismiss the charges against him.

Flynn contends that the DOJ was aware the prosecution against him lacked merit and cites a DOJ motion from then-U.S. Attorney Timothy Shea saying "The Government is not persuaded that the January 24, 2017 interview was conducted with a legitimate investigative basis and therefore does not believe Mr. Flynn’s statements were material even if untrue. Moreover, we [sic] not believe that the Government can prove either the relevant false statements or their materiality beyond a reasonable doubt."

"The DOJ therefore admitted that they should never have brought this prosecution against General Flynn because the interview that formed the basis of the criminal information should never have happened and, even though it did happen, it was not a proper basis for the felony charge," his legal team asserted.

The filing names the United States of America as a defendant.

Flynn is seeking compensatory damages to be determined by the court but that he expects to exceed $50 million, in addition to his legal fees and any other court-determined relief.

Jesse Binnall of the Binnall Law Group, which is representing Flynn, derided the federal government for its "politically motivated persecution of an American hero."

"What the Deep State did to General Flynn should never be done to another American, ever," he added.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
I wish the General the best.

Any time the courts, prosecution, and law enforcement of the United States (or any jurisdiction) are utilized as a political weapon by engaging in prosecutions without merit for the purposes of harassment or to bring harm to a political opponent, those involved should not only be required to pay damages, but themselves should be subject to the full sentence and penalties for the crime being prosecuted.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
