Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Monday claimed American taxpayers have a “moral duty” to defend Ukraine’s eastern border from invasion by giving aid to the nation.

In a New York Times op-ed published while the secretary visited the nation, Yellen said the American support “is motivated, first and foremost, by a moral duty to come to the aid of a people under attack.”

My Dear Ms. Yellen:

It would appear that although your Administration has an unquestionable duty to defend America's borders from invasion, you are instead not only actively inviting the invaders, but providing funds from our own Treasury to support their efforts.

If you were Ukraine's Treasury Secretary or its equivalent, would you be funding the Russians at this moment?

The Ukranians can defend their own border.

Providing US military assistance to Ukraine will be more cost effective trying to defend NATO's eastern frontier from Russian aggression.
