Ready for the Long Haul: Joe Biden Arrives in Ukraine Capital Kyiv to Show U.S. Support

President Joe Biden used a secret train trip Monday to journey from Poland into war-torn Ukraine to show Kyiv it has full and open-ended U.S. support.

AP reports Biden stood with his Ukraine counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at Mariinsky Palace and recalled the fears expressed nearly a year ago that Russia might quickly march in and take the Ukrainian capital.

“One year later, Kyiv stands,” Biden said from beind his podium decorated with the U.S. and Ukrainian flags. “And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you.”

The Ukraine visit comes as Biden decides he wants to be seen as well as heard on his first journey to the country since Russian troops invaded on February 24, 2022.

Biden announces $500 million in new military aid during trip to Kyiv

President Joe Biden announced the United States's latest military aid package to Ukraine during a surprise trip to Kyiv ahead of the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion.

The new aid, which Biden announced on Monday during his visit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is valued at $500 million, though the U.S. president did not provide many details on what would be included in it.

He said the package will also include more military equipment, including artillery ammunition, more javelins, and howitzers. He did not appear to reference any military equipment that has not already been provided to Ukraine during the war. Biden said more details would be released in the coming days.

Zelensky said he and Biden spoke about “long-range weapons and the weapons that may still be supplied to Ukraine even though it wasn’t supplied before," which is one of their biggest requests that the U.S. has, thus far, been unwilling to meet.

“It’s good to be back in Kyiv,” Biden declared as he was greeted upon arrival by Ambassador Bridget Brink.

U.S. officials warned Russia that President Biden was visiting the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv hours before he made the trip, the White House National Security Council revealed Monday.

National security officials provided more details about Biden's surprise trip to Ukraine on Monday, calling the trip unprecedented given the lack of U.S. military infrastructure in the war-torn region. Reporters pressed National security adviser Jake Sullivan on whether the U.S. had warned Moscow that Biden was headed to Kyiv, a city scarred with Russian missile strikes.

"We did notify the Russians that President Biden would be traveling to Kyiv," Sullivan told reporters Monday. "We did so some hours before his departure for de-confliction purposes."

This is the same Biden who continues to block MiG transfers from Poland and Slovenia to Ukraine. Biden is really good at announcing military aid, often multiple times for the same aid. But he really sucks at delivering it. Meanwhile, the State Department is drowning in cash.

Joe Biden shows how to support A REGIME, like it was dearly beloved. Of course Joe generously financially supports foreign lands, while impoverishing his own people, America/Americans. Just wait until tax time this year, when Joe shows you who will be forced to mercilessly support these massive expenditures for foreigners.
