House Republicans Launch Probe into Biden’s Deadly Afghanistan Withdrawal

Wendell Husebø 17 Feb 2023

Top House Oversight Committee Republicans on Friday demanded all documents and communications from the Biden administration, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff, regarding President Joe Biden’s deadly Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021.

The Republicans are demanding the information after the Biden administration has “obstructed” congressional oversight, along with the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR),” according to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY).

“The Biden Administration was tragically unprepared for the Afghanistan withdrawal and their decisions in the region directly resulted in a national security and humanitarian catastrophe,” Comer said in a statement. “U.S. servicemen and women lost their lives, Americans were abandoned, taxpayer dollars are unaccounted for, the Taliban gained access to military equipment, progress for Afghan women was derailed, and the entire area is now under hostile Taliban control.”

“The American people deserve answers and the Biden Administration’s ongoing obstruction of this investigation is unacceptable,” he added.

A TV showtrial for FoxNews viewers to reach the obvious conclusion ... nation building in Afghanistan was a failure ... and we had no reason to stay after Osama bin Laden was killed.

Building sh!th0le nations like Somalia, Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan into mirror images of American government and society is a waste of resources.

Bush '43 promised no nation building when he ran for President in 2000 ... then he attempts to remake the world in America's image ... making America into the World Police.

Ameri-fication of China, Russia, Iraq, and Afghanistan have been abject failures.  Economic "reform" does not necessarily bring about political reform.

Bush 43's American foreign policy experiment of the 2000's was a disaster.

Before we moved in, who was running Afghanistan?

As soon as we departed, who was (back) running Afghanistan?

The answer would be the same, be it 20 years, 30 years, or 40 years.

What was gained there?

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion

I certainly don't disagree that we should have left, I'm pretty sure that the investigation will be into the way we left, not that we left. There is not one single thing that Biden hasn't done half assed and blamed Trump for, but his leaving Billions of dollars of American arms with people who want to kill us is beyond half assed.

I can  save you a lot of time.

We left Afghanistan because the deposit to one of Biden's offshore accounts cleared. They paid him more in cash to leave than the defense industry was paying  him to stay there and not win.
