🚨#UPDATE: Defense officials have announced
that the balloon over MT has not exploded and was not shot down by the U.S. military. Videos purporting to show the balloon exploding are not real this is still developing

Last I heard, the balloon had passed Washington,  MO. But I also heard there were two balloons.  :shrug:

Now that is really strange.  Because the last trajectory I was hearing was about at St. Louis at 3pm, Cape Girardeau at about 6.

And now it has completely reversered and went NW back to just west of  St. Louis at 8 or 9?

There aren't any SE to NW prevailing aloft winds right now anywhere near that vicinity. (see below)  The contention that this thing  having a weather balloon prevailing wind element to it, appears to be bull shit.

It was over Nashville at about 2 a.m., Eastern time.

Spotted over Greer, SC, this morning.
