This past weekend, I watched "Man of Iron", a 1981 Polish film about the Gdansk shipyard strike. The film was banned in Poland for several years, until the end of the communist regime.

Lech Walesa had a brief role in the film, playing himself, of course.

The wife and I started watching the first episode. We stopped watching after about twenty minutes and never went back.
All the main characters appeared to obnoxious, foul-mouthed louts like many new series cranked out today. Even the women.
It seems nobody likes to create series with likable, good characters anymore.

Just about anything with Mitchum in it is good, but OOTP is one of  the top film noir flicks. I'm spending an unusual amount of time watching Film Noir movies. Something about the black and white  and the feeling that the main characters/protagonists are going to have something bad happen to them.
But I like a lot of the older movies anyway film noir or no film noir. The Thin Man movies with William Powell are also some of my favorites. Bah!!! to modern CGI-dominated modern flicks.

The wife has lately been watching lots of the episodes of History on the Roku Channel. So that's what I've been watching, when I'm not re-watching episodes of Gunsmoke.
