How evidence poured forth in the Idaho murders investigation
By Jason James Barry

A great deal of focus has been placed on vehicle stops by police to view murder suspect Bryan Kohberger's hands days before his arrest — but those tactics may have accomplished a great deal more for the investigation.

Beyond firsthand viewing and body-cam image captures of the condition of Kohberger's hands, those vehicle stops conceivably served to tie Kohberger to several other key elements.

The early weeks of investigation into the November 13 murders of four college students were first met with scrutiny.  With no suspect named after more than a month, the case seemed all but stalled.

Then, on December 30, police in Pennsylvania arrested Kohberger with stark indicators pointing to his guilt, including his enrollment in a Ph.D. program 10 miles from the site of the killings and his ownership of a white Hyundai Elantra that became a focal point on the night the murders occurred.

It now becomes more apparent that the investigation developed Kohberger as a suspect through genetic genealogy — based on DNA recovered from the crime scene.  And afterward, the FBI likely coordinated with uniformed police to orchestrate vehicle stops along Kohberger's highway route from school during winter break to his family home in Pennsylvania.

Dozens of companies, banks and law enforcement organizations were served with warrants in the University of Idaho quadruple homicide, but their contents have been sealed by a judge in the high-profile case for fear that they could potentially sway a jury, according to a report.

The warrants, which were handed out to more than 60 companies — including AT&T, American Express, Bank of America, Apple, PayPal and Reddit — were ordered to remain sealed in the case against Bryan Kohberger, Fox News reported Saturday.

The warrants “contain highly intimate facts or statements … which would be highly objectionable to a reasonable person,” the outlet said. The court also noted that “documents contain facts or statements that might threaten the safety of or endanger the life or safety of individuals.”

Among the others served with warrants is the Moscow Police Department Forensic Lab and Ka-Bar Knives, as it was previously revealed cops were searching for a “Rambo”-style knife — such as a KA-BAR brand combat blade — used in the slayings.  ...
