Ashli Babbitt's Mother Arrested for Not Being on Sidewalk on Two Year Anniversary of J6 Death

Ashli Babbitt’s mother, Micki Witthoeft, was arrested by Capitol Police on Friday, on the second anniversary of her daughter’s death.
Sources close to the situation tell RedState that Witthoeft intended to march around the Capitol carrying roses and say a prayer, but today’s Speaker of the House vote and the second anniversary of January 6th road closures, along with parts of the Capitol being shut down, made this difficult.
The video clips circulating on social media show a group of demonstrators walking around the US Capitol and interacting with police. The initial verbal exchange in the videos shows officers directing the memorial procession to the sidewalk while a male voice in the group responds, “You blocked off our sidewalk.” An officer is seen making physical contact with Witthoeft, using his weight to shove her backward. Members of the group can be heard saying: “Do not touch us,” and “That was not necessary.”
Witthoeft can be seen bending down to place on the street the red rose she carried and coffee cup, before turning around seeming to submit herself to the arrest and being cuffed. Witthoeft is thought to be arrested for jaywalking, with officers shouting, “Sidewalk or you’re under arrest!” before eventually cuffing her.
