Renowned for their years of leadership in automotive safety, Volvo Cars was purchased by the Ford Motor Company and remained part of their Premier Automotive brands from 1999 to 2010. The automaker is now owned by Geely Automobile, a major automotive brand based in China.

Apparently Volvo has been using their own designed engines since 2013 so maybe unlike Ford the Chicoms are keeping their fingers out of the pie?

So VOLVO is now owned by the Chicoms. That puts yet another once fine automobile brand on my don't touch with a ten foot pole list. Thanks for the update @GtHawk

Isn't it amazing that what one person sees can be so different from what somebody else sees? You could be standing side by side and looking at the same view and come up with totally different ideas.

I have had good luck with mine, all 20th century, all with well over 100,000 miles. Easy enough to work on. Not exotic, but cheap enough horsepower. YMMV.
