Fried-Bankman Free on $250,000,000 Bond..[update]

Yawn.  Just another Democrat caught in a huge felony, donating millions to Democrats.

Nothing to see here.  "Old news" Leftists will cackle.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/ftx-founder-sam-bankman-fried-released-on-250-million-bond/ar-AA15zy6X?ocid=ACERDHP15&pc=ACTE&cvid=e7fa83a7df854190ba0906a900188d59

A federal magistrate on Thursday ordered disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried released on a $250 million personal recognizance bond signed by his parents and secured by their Palo Alto, California, home. A prosecutor called it the largest pretrial bond ever.

Bankman-Fried, who did not enter a plea during the brief hearing, appeared in a dark suit and tie with his distinctive mop of curly hair. Shackles were not visible around his ankles but echoed through the courtroom as he entered. Both of his parents, former Stanford Law professors, appeared in the gallery.

The 30-year-old crypto executive is charged with defrauding customers and investors in the now-bankrupt crypto exchange FTX. He made his initial appearance in a New York federal court hours after he arrived in the United States from the Bahamas, where he was arrested last week.

He wasn't required to put up any money at all. Just have his parents sign over a lien against their home in Palo Alto by January 12. But if he flees, US could go after him, parents and still unknown non-family co-signer for the $250 million

Interesting to see if his parents, being employed by FTX, or at least remunerated as such, are not to be implicated in the conspiracy charges.  And would be interesting to know as well to which extent the parents wealth might come from payments from FTX and/or customers funds 🤔

Considering the sums involved, $250,000,000.00 is chump change.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

BREAKING: The so-called “Justice Department” has decided NOT TO PROSECUTE Sam Bankman-Fried?

You know, the guy who donated nearly $45,000,000 to Democratic campaigns and committees.

Dem corruption is off the chain!
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

It is all so predictable with this DOJ.  Is anyone surprised anymore with the depth of corruption in this admin?

The Justice Department has decided not to prosecute Sam Bankman Fried.

Not exactly.
From Wikipedia.org:

The trial ended on November 2, 2023, with the jury pronouncing Bankman-Fried guilty on all seven counts. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 28, 2024.[121] Federal criminal court sentencing experts suggest he likely faces decades in prison, with some experts suggesting Bankman-Fried could receive a sentence of 100-years.[11][10]
Second trial

A second trial, on five charges including bank fraud and bribery, is scheduled for early March 2024. These charges were brought by federal prosecutors after Bankman-Fried was extradited from the Bahamas in December 2022. Bankman-Fried had asked for these charges to be dismissed because they were not part of the extradition agreement with Bahamanian authorities, or alternatively he requested it be resolved under a separate trial.[122][13]

Elsewhere:

Sam Bankman-Fried quickly figured out that mackerel fish is the currency of choice among inmates.

He recently used it to pay for a haircut.

The food item has been a popular means of exchange in federal prisons since 2004.

It didn't take long for former crypto-billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried to learn the economic system of New York's Metropolitan Detention Center.

The disgraced founder of crypto exchange FTX has reportedly been keeping busy by swapping food items in exchange for services as  he awaits sentencing on seven felony counts that include wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Wasn't he whining a few months ago about the food in prison? Holy mackerel (so to speak).
