Raphael Warnock eyed as early contender for 2028 presidential race following runoff win

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) may have just won his first full term as a senator, but he's already being eyed for a 2028 presidential run.

The senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church has proven he can win under tough circumstances, and his star is on the rise.

Warnock was welcomed earlier this week with cheers and applause when he walked through a Washington airport following his hard-fought runoff win against GOP nominee Herschel Walker.

At the Capitol, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) greeted him on the front steps, while other colleagues hugged him upon his return.

In the past two years, Warnock has navigated controversy and won in four different Senate elections, either with a plurality vote as he did in the 2020 and 2022 general elections or a majority in runoff races.

He's raised a mind-bending $300 million during that same period, pocketing the same amount of cash that Georgia W. Bush and John Kerry raised in the 2004 presidential election.

The 53-year-old charismatic pastor first helped Georgia go from a deep-red state to a periwinkle one two years ago and was able to keep his seat in a midterm election that historically favored the opposite party in power.

Separately, supporters say his accomplishments have been brought on by hard work, due diligence, and a fighting spirit. Together, they could produce the right amount of magic needed to propel the pastor, who grew up in the projects of Savannah, to the White House.

Typical Democrats.  The only thing that matters is winning the election, not whether or not you can do the job.  We'll see how the summer camp child abuse model works on the Presidential campaign trail.

I have evidently become more cynical and jaded than I was.

This didn't even surprise me.

When they stand side by side, they look like the number 10.

All fine and well for Sesame Street but not so much for America **nononono* Besides I heard Hillary was looking to run again, this time with Big Mike Obama and call it the Ebony and Ivory campaign.

No surprises here.

ol' white joe "proved the theory".

That theory being, "you can put anyone in the Oval Office, so long as you are able to pull the strings from the shadows".

And... it's WORKING.
