Loudoun County School Board fires superintendent after explosive grand jury report

(1/1)

Free Vulcan:
The Loudoun County School Board fired district Superintendent Scott Ziegler Tuesday night in a closed-door meeting the day after an explosive grand jury report ripped the superintendent's actions in response to two sexual assaults in district high schools.

The school board, which itself faced criticism over the handling of the assaults, fired Ziegler in a unanimous vote the day after a special grand jury impaneled by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares released a report that said school district administrators, including Ziegler, "failed at every juncture" and could have prevented the second of the two assaults from taking place.

I saw some of this on Laura Ingraham's show last night. The entire school administration, including the HS principal and the school board, should be canned.

EdinVA:
So why did the school board need the grand jury report to fire this jerk?
They needed/wanted a shield from lawsuits from him because he was doing as directed by the board...

They never wanted to fire him.  The grand jury report forced their hand.
