There's another word that used mean something else, 1.strange; odd. "she had a queer feeling that they were being watched"
I guess it is fitting that the second definition is for Faggotry but that made the original definition unsuitable for normal discussion.
You caught me. It was a brilliant play on the word, wasn't it? And I meant to do it... Glad someone caught it.
Incidentally, I still use the word 'queer' in its traditional sense, albeit not as much, as I can see the person I am talking to skip a tooth as they search out whether there is an innuendo implied. There is always a pause anymore, as they suffer though the same interpretation you just did... but from the other direction.
They still get that I went 'old skool'... but it's taking longer.
