Yep! But I liked the ending in Young Frankenstein better than the ending in Blazing Saddles.
Well Young Frankenstein only had two writers, Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder, while Blazing Saddles had five, Mel Brooks, Richard Pryor, Alan Uger, Andrew Bergman and Norman Steinberg so I figure there was a lot more compromising on Blazing Saddles. It's also why the cries of racism about Blazing Saddles was so ridiculous since both Pryor and Uger were Black.

Yes, for me the Blazing Saddles ending went way off the rails...

My favorite Mel Brooks: Get Smart.

I need to find the time to watch the whole series again. I have it on DVD...
Get Smart was created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry. Mel Brooks had little to do with the show after the first season...per Wikipedia.

Brooks had little involvement with the series after the first season, but Henry served as story editor through 1967. The crew of the show included:

Leonard B. Stern – executive producer for the entire run of the series
Irving Szathmary – music and theme composer and conductor for the entire run
Don Adams – director of 13 episodes and writer of two episodes
David Davis – associate producer
Gary Nelson – director of the most episodes
Bruce Bilson – director of the second-most episodes
Gerald C. Gardner and Dee Caruso – head writers for the series[12]
Reza Badiyi – occasional director
Allan Burns and Chris Hayward – frequent writers and producers
Stan Burns and Mike Marmer – frequent writers
Richard Donner – occasional director
James Komack – writer and director
Arne Sultan – frequent writer and producer
Lloyd Turner and Whitey Mitchell – frequent writers and producers of season five

Mask Mandates And COVID Lockdowns Were Useless,
New Study Confirms

https://www.outkick.com/mask-mandates-and-covid-lockdowns-were-useless-new-study-confirms/

Despite clearly operating under the assumption that “science based” policies would guide
certain states to better COVID outcomes, even they were forced to admit that authorities
were hopelessly outmatched.
“Higher public health spending and more public health personnel per capita were not associated
with infection or death rates,” they write.

Notice how Florida outperformed California after adjustment? Amazing that the strictest
lockdowns and most prolific COVID mask mandates were unsuccessful, isn’t it?

Readers of Aldous Huxley will recall the "Savage Reservations" for those who would not play along with TPTB.

Even then, when I read Brave New World, I figured I'd end up on one...

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. Really? I honestly don't remember hearing any.

What  I do remember is I took my  ex and her sister with me to see it,and MAY have smoked a little whacky tabaccy along the way. I ended up laughing so much  and so hard  they both got up and went and sat in another row of seats.

Then again,I guess the Undead bitched about how they were portrayed in "Young Frankenstein".

Some people just ain't happy unless they are complaining.

Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

I showed Blazing Saddles to a bunch of 'kids' in their early 20s about 30 years ago. When the sheriff held the gun to his head and said "Don't move or the n---er gets it!" they were mortified.
I thought it was one of the funniest lines in the movie.
The satire was completely lost on them and their programming kicked in. **nononono*

The movie could not be made, much less shown in theaters today.

And THERE it IS!

Although I honestly believe the DeSantis supporters seem to be more hostile and aggressive.

Exactly right. Mel Brooks said that very thing a few years ago, and that's a shame. The movie is hilarious, and it's poking fun at bigotry and stereotypes. But today's non-thinkers just don't get it.
