Hakeem Jeffries: The Number One Priority Of Democrats Will Be Taking Back The House In 2024

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, who appears to be unopposed in his bid to be the Democratic Minority Leader next year, told CNN on Sunday morning that the party's number one "nongovernmental goal" will be to take back the House majority in 2024.
"We're not satisfied [with the results in 2022]. Our top nongovernmental goal must be reclaiming the House in 2024," Jeffries said. "And I'm committed to making sure that that happens for the good of the American people."
"It's an honor to stand on the shoulders of such an extraordinary group of leaders, Jim Clyburn, Steny Hoyer and, of course, Nancy Pelosi, a historic speaker, a legendary leader, someone who has left an incredible footprint for good, for change, for positivity, for progress for the American people, over the decades that she has been able to lead us in the Congress," Jeffries also said.
