The left is working overtime to exploit Saturday’s Club Q Shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to target efforts across the country to protect minors from the excesses of LGBT policies. Despite having very little information about the shooter, 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, or his motivations in opening fire into the gay club, the narrative has been set by politicians and their media allies: Anti-LGBT rhetoric, conservative policies, and “hate” are to blame.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., blamed the GOP for multiple mass shootings targeting minorities, “And now after an anti-LGBT+ campaign, Colorado Springs. Connect the dots, @GOP.”  ...

The intention is obvious. The goal is to try to intimidate conservatives and parents from continuing to oppose harmful LGBT policies in education, medicine, and girls’ sports. By shifting the narrative to position all opposition to LGBT policies as “hate” and directly responsible for violence, the left believes it can crush what has been a successful campaign nationwide.  ...

Despite hysterical claims, there is no specific or escalating threat to LGBT Americans, and there is nothing to support the argument that conservative and parental efforts to influence policies and laws affecting their families and children are harming LGBT people or putting them in danger. The fight for parental rights, responsible medicine, and common-sense child safety policies regarding adult entertainment is necessary and important. We cannot allow ourselves to be bullied into silence.

The alleged Colorado nightclub shooter wanted to be “the next mass killer” – and whined that their grandparents’ plans to move down south would ruin a plot to build a bomb, according to records from a previous arrest.

Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, flew into a rage and threatened to kill their grandparents when they told them they had sold their house and planned to move to Florida in June 2021, according to records obtained by KKTV 11 News.

The incident ended with the SWAT team swarming Aldrich’s mother’s home, more than a year before Aldrich allegedly stormed an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs and killed five people. ... The grandmother later told cops Aldrich said they were “going to be the next mass killer and has been collecting ammunition, firearms, bullet-proof body armor and storing it in the basement of the residence.”

The grandchild had bragged about wanting to “go out in a blaze” and had started making what the grandmother believed was a bomb, according to the records obtained by KKTV. Aldrich complained the move would interfere with their “bomb making” and “plans to conduct a mass shooting and bombing,” the records stated.  ...

Mugshots of the alleged Colorado Springs gay nightclub attacker were released by the Colorado Springs Police Department, showing the suspect battered and bruised.

Breitbart News reported that the 22-year-old who allegedly opened fire in Club Q just before midnight Saturday was stopped by an Army veteran who took away the attacker’s handgun and hit him with it.

9NEWS and KUSA noted that the veteran, Richard Fierro, pinned the attacker to the floor and called for another patron to help subdue the suspect: “And then I told the guy, move the AR. The kid in front of me, he was at his head. I said, ‘Move the AR. Get the AR away from him.’ And the kid did it. And then I started whaling on this dude. And I’m on top of him. I’m a big dude, man, and this guy was bigger. And I just kept whaling on him.”

A Colorado judge on Thursday unsealed documents involving dropped charges against the suspected Club Q mass shooter stemming from a June 2021 bomb threat incident during which the suspect vowed to become "the next mass killer."

Why it matters: In the aftermath of the Nov. 19 shooting at Club Q that left five people dead and more than a dozen others injured, previous charges against the suspect raised questions as to whether authorities could have seized the suspect's weapons and ammo under Colorado’s “red flag” law.

The unsealed documents revealed that prosecutors dropped the 2021 case against Anderson Lee Aldrich after the suspect's family members refused to cooperate with authorities and stand as witnesses during a trial. ...
