Trump is doing nothing but giving DeSantis free publicity. Alot of Reps don't or barely know him.

I say talk on.
The Republic is lost.

I don't think Trump at all believes what he's saying.
He's just playing politics.  He's bashing his opponents.
It's like 2016, when he attacked Ted Cruz.
He's just trying to win the nomination.

I thought it was a mistake then, and I still think it's a mistake now.
It might make sense in the short term.  Defeat your competitors for the nomination.
But it puts you and the party in a worse position for the general election.

Another thing to remember from 2016 -
Trump would bash his opponents, until they dropped out.
Then he would say, "You're a good guy.  Thanks for playing the game."

Normal people are tried of Trump's Shit.  The man is a fool and his use by date has expired.

If I was Ron DeSantis, I would dismiss Trump's statements.
I would say, "I don't take his statements seriously.  He's just playing politics.
I'm not going to respond.  He can run his campaign however he wants.
I'm going to run on my record as Governor of Florida.
If he wins the nomination, I will support him.
I expect the same from him.
I'm running a positive campaign for the nomination.
I'm saving all my negativity to use against the Democrats.
Look at what they've done to the country!"

And then bash Democrats.

If Ron DeSantis does this, I think he'll prove that he's the better candidate.

   Excellent post @unite for individuality

IMHO, Ron DeSantis wouldn't take the bait to go to the trough and feed with the pigs, except, possibly on a very bad night.

No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not doing this $#!+ again. Damn, Trump. Just when you had me in your corner. But I'm absolutely not doing this again.

Trump sucks at playing politics.  The only reason he won the nomination is because Ted Cruz posed a much greater threat to the GOP than did Donald Trump.  And Trump was stupid enough to allow the GOP choose his delegates for him, something Ted Cruz would never have done.

In 2016, Ted Cruz was at each State convention fighting for the future of the party, while Donald Trump was getting free air time from the Democrat media fighting for himself.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

'Sounds Chinese': Trump seethes at Glenn 'Young Kin' as midterm meltdown continues

by Christian Datoc, White House Reporter
November 11, 2022 10:10 AM

Former President Donald Trump criticized Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) Friday as he continues to throw elbows with 2024 Republican presidential contenders.

Trump, who has yet to launch his 2024 presidential campaign, confirmed Thursday night that he would make a major announcement at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday, despite Republicans' underwhelming performance in the midterm elections.

"Young Kin (now that's an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn't it?) in Virginia couldn't have won without me," Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social, Friday morning. "I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him — or he couldn't have come close to winning."
