Republican Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears said Thursday on Fox Business that former President Donald Trump needs to step aside, adding that she could not support him if he runs again.

Sears was on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on Thursday discussing whether Trump needs to step aside.

“Voters have spoken, and they have said that they want a different leader. And a true leader understands when they have become a liability,” Sears said. “A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage, and the voters have given us that very clear message. Because this is about America.”

“So does that imply within the Republican Party, lieutenant governor, to Donald Trump that it’s time to step off the stage?”

So does that mean she won't support him in the General?

I know emotions are running pretty strong, and some finger pointing, so I hope she doesn't regret this.

So, I disagree somewhat that this election was about DJT.  The left may want you to think so, but I certainly don't see it that way.  Yes, he may have backed particular candidates, but Trump didn't force anyone to vote in a particular way.

If people are voting for who someone else backs and solely relying on their opinion, then they haven't done their due diligence before they voted and shame on them.

She gained mine.  Trump is a cancer.  Time to start the Chemo and rid the body of the toxins.

Is any of it untrue?
Do we not want the truth anymore or have we become just like the dems?

We are not even in a primary season yet and Desantis hasn't even said anything about running.

This is petty jealousy on Trump's part

With respect @EdinVA that isn't the issue here. There is a time and place for everything and now isn't it!

Desantis has never said he is not running either...
Well the hysteria around desantis has been out of control for several months and Trump probably sees him as competition to be dealt with.
If desantis cannot take a little heat from an "ally" just wait till the socialists get a hold of him..

DeSantis has stated several times that he has no interest in the presidency. The media insists on spreading the rumor that he is running.  Trump is in hysteria over him running given how well he did in the mid terms.  Trump running his mouth against a very popular conservative governor is not going to turn out well for him.

??? If someone is threatening and calling you names, they aren't your ally.

We have discussed several times her on this board that the problem with the GOP is they will not fight, so if desantis is so great, then he should fight, stand up to Trump, instead of doing the mcconnel shuffle.
I like what I have seen from Desantis, don't get me wrong, but he needs more back bone...

What are you talking about?? DeSantis has more backbone than most.  He's proven that by standing up to the Feds and Fauci and he opened up FL and he was heavily criticized by many; though now they realize he was right.  In general he has stood up against 'wokeness'.

Why would DeSantis stoop to Trump's level and fire back at him when he's doing so well and he is so popular?? He's busy getting SWFL back on their feet and maybe he doesn't have time for a sniveling Trump. Trump wants a fight.  DeSantis is smart not to engage.  DeSantis has never said that he was running, in fact he has stated he wasn't running.  It's a shame, Trump was a good president but stomping on a conservative who has succeeded is going to cost him if he continues with the insults.  Does Trump think he can win without taking FL?  He would be wise to shut his mouth.

Trump has lost my vote.

I've got a truck load of "I told you so's" for those youngsters.

In a way, I can relate to them:

At 18, I voted for McGovern.
At 22, I voted for Carter.

Between the age of 22 and 26, I was in my first 4 years in the Army. By the election of 1980, I had been a platoon leader for 3 platoons, XO, and battalion staff officer, all in Germany.

My neighbors pleaded with me to vote for Carter, they were so sure that Reagan would start WWIII. Leading up to the election, we had discussions in the local gasthaus 2-3 times a week. My main premise was that the world was a safer place when America is strong, and that remains true 42 years later.

Just published?

Remember the '16 primaries?

1. Jeb Bush-"has to like the Mexican illegals because of his wife (from Columbia)."
2. Rick Perry- Wears glasses to look smart
3. Ted CRuz- Lyin Ted, clling Cruz' wie ugly and crazy.
4. Little Marco comments
5. Little Ben (Sasse)

etc.

This is his norm, and we has conservatives should not have to put up with this bullshit.  We can do better and more respectful of those within our own party.

Now he's reduced to fighting Republicans outside the primary season
