World Leaders Congratulate Benjamin Netanyahu: Still Not a Peep from Silent Biden

Deborah Brand 7 Nov 2022

World leaders have congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu, slated to make his comeback as Israel’s prime minister, but so far President Joe Biden is remaining tight-lipped.

Newly appointed British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Netanyahu, saying he “looks forward to working with returning prime minister.”

French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday called Netanyahu on the phone, saying later on Twitter: “We share the same desire to strengthen the already strong ties between Israel and France.”

According to Hebrew media reports, the two leaders discussed regional issues including Iran’s nuclear program.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the fray, congratulating Netanyahu, whose Likud Party was the largest to emerge from the election, winning 32 seats in the 120-seat Knesset. The forthcoming government will be Israel’s most right-wing to date.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides on Friday reportedly said the delay with Biden’s congratulatory call was due to the American president’s full schedule ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Biden congratulates PM Bennett in phone call as US embraces new government

US leader says he looks ‘forward to working’ with premier ‘to strengthen all aspects of the close and enduring relationship between our two nations;’ FM Lapid invited to Washington

US President Joe Biden congratulated new Prime Minister Naftali Bennett Sunday night on being sworn in as the head of a new government coalition, issuing a statement and immediately following it up with a phone call.

“On behalf of the American people, I congratulate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, and all the members of the new Israeli cabinet,” Biden said in a statement. “I look forward to working with Prime Minister Bennett to strengthen all aspects of the close and enduring relationship between our two nations.”

US Secretary of State Blinken also called Lapid to congratulate him and invite him to visit Washington. The Biden administration’s move to quickly embrace the fledgling government came after Benjamin Netanyahu used his final speech as prime minister to air his grievances with Washington.  .  .

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

Saturday night spent at his home in Delaware.
Sunday, schedule completely empty until 6 pm rally in New York.
Today, schedule completely empty between 9:30 am PDB and 4:00 pm virtual meeting with the DNC.

Tom Nides is a liar.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion

Yeah sure, he's just too busy, my nieces and nephews use the same BS excuse for not calling their 91 year old grandmother. Biden hasn't called because he hates Netanyahu, if it was some socialist he would have been on the phone in a heartbeat...those may be few and far apart for Joe.
