DeSantis endorsing a Republican senate candidate who pledges not to support Trump in 2024 is really stupid @mountaineer

DeSantis asked for push back from Trump --- or made a strategic blunder. Either way this is self-inflicted by DeSantis and he deserves no sympathy for Trump's reaction --- nor does Trump deserve a scolding or a lecture.

It's an open secret in Washington that DeSantis has been consulting with his former mentor, Paul Ryan. The governor needs to choose team MAGA or team status quo. If DeSantis is team MAGA he needs to celebrate his landslide victory, repeal Florida's red flag laws and wait for Trump's decision on 2024 ---- without shooting himself in the foot again.

RDS will win on Tuesday, but he’s not just going to be “installed” as the top guy in ‘24 no matter how badly Paul Ryan & Bush want him to be.

About that DeSantis jab, Trump didn’t throw the first punch, he’s not in the habit of starting skirmishes, he’s a counterpuncher. Made sense in his business, makes sense in politics. If you think about it, you’re probably the same way.

Me, I’m always polite. And If people are nice to me, I’m nice right back. Attack me, well then that’s different.

Instead of exploring ways that they can work together to advance the Conservative cause, Trump reverts to the ways that turn most sane people off, unnecessarily, as neither have announced their Candidacy for POTUS 2024.

Trump is imo in some ways brilliant but he’s also a megalomaniac. At almost 80 he won’t change.

I think highly successful people have similar personality types. I suspect it comes with the territory. You have to work your ass off to make billions, so besides the smarts you need drive and determination which are essential qualities—and of course the requisite inflated ego. Trump appears to have all those traits.
