Fetterman Finally Releases 'Medical Record' (But You Won't Believe What It Really Is)

Pennsylvania Democrat senate candidate and stroke victim John Fetterman finally released his medical record after weeks on the campaign trail spent struggling to speak in short and sometimes nonsensical outbursts.

There’s just one problem: that isn’t his medical record.

Actually, there are at least a couple more problems, but we’ll get to those in a sec.

The first and most obvious problem is… those are not his medical records, and you’d have to be a fool or a member of the press to believe they are. But I repeat myself. What the campaign released — here, in [PDF form — is a one-page letter from Fetterman’s primary physician, Dr. Clifford Chen of Pittsburgh’s UPMC.

It’s basically a doctor’s note assuring voters that although he’s been sick, little Johnny can come to class today.

He just might not fully understand what the teacher says, according to Dr. Chen’s note:

He spoke intelligently without cognitive deficits. His speech was normal and he continues to exhibit symptoms of an auditory processing disorder which can come across as hearing difficulty. Occasional words he will “miss” which seems like he doesn’t hear the word but it is actually not processed properly.

That letter doesn’t exactly inspire confidence for anyone who’s actually seen the candidate try and campaign.

That’s why last week, during his first post-stroke interview, Fetterman required “a large computer screen with closed captioning” to understand what NBC correspondent Dasha Burns was asking. “In small talk before my interview,” Burns said afterward, “it wasn’t clear he understood what I was saying.”

Fetterman’s wife, former illegal alien and current “de facto candidate,” Gisele Barreto Fetterman, demanded to know: “What is being done at the media after a reporter came out so openly ableist towards a person?”

John Fetterman’s campaign is citing a political donor’s note as proof that the Senate hopeful has a clean bill of health.

In a letter released by Fetterman’s team, Dr. Clifford Chen said Fetterman has "significantly improved" following his stroke and "can work full duty in public office." The campaign released the letter—which it called a "medical report"—following calls from media outlets for the Pennsylvania Democrat’s health records.

Chen’s political leanings could raise questions about his medical assessment of Fetterman, whose race against Republican Mehmet Oz could determine which party controls the Senate. According to campaign finance records, Chen has given tens of thousands of dollars over the years to Democratic candidates and party committees. He contributed $1,330 to Fetterman’s campaign, including a $500 donation in June 2021, before he became Fetterman’s doctor. This is the reason why the 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.  Georgia's Senators should represent Georgia, not some donor in Pennsylvania.

I can't vote in PA, but if I could, I would be concerned about his health issues (a stroke is not a small thing and can affect judgement) but more importantly...his political outlook and history.

NBC’s Burns: Fetterman Is Seeing Specialists Who Could Be ‘Much More Specific’ than Letter He Released

On Wednesday’s broadcast of NBC’s “MTP Now,” NBC News Correspondent Dasha Burns stated that while the letter from U.S. Senate candidate and Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman’s (D) primary care physician is “a step toward transparency” there are specialists that Fetterman has been seeing that “could get much more specific on his current condition.”

Burns said that the letter is “a step toward transparency. This is a letter from his primary care provider. It talks about his blood pressure, his cholesterol levels, all saying that he has normal vitals, essentially. And it talked about…that he spoke intelligently, without cognitive deficits, but said that he continues to exhibit symptoms of an auditory processing disorder.”

She continued, “Now, he’s also seeing other specialists like a neurologist, a cardiologist, a speech therapist who could get much more specific on his current condition.”

After noting that Fetterman’s opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz (R), has pushed for a release of more medical records, Burns said that voters can debate if the letter Fetterman released is enough transparency and “this is a step. It certainly doesn’t answer all of those questions, though, Chuck.”

According to records from the Federal Election Commission, Dr. Clifford Chen, the doctor who wrote the letter, donated to Fetterman’s campaign.

Democrat donor Dr. Clifford Chen has officially given the thumbs-up to Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman five months after his stroke, unsurprisingly declaring him fit to serve in the Senate if elected.

Fetterman, 53, suffered a stroke on May 13, and his health has been a hot topic ever since. A large lump was spotted on his neck and no real reason has ever been given for that either.

Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz has strongly questioned Fetterman’s fitness for office and has demanded to know why he hasn’t released his medical records. After massive pressure to do so, Fetterman’s doctor announced the Democrat was good-to-go in a convenient political miracle.

Chen issued a letter on Wednesday saying that Fetterman was recovering well but still had some difficulties with “auditory processing.” What he failed to mention is that this long after the event, it is likely that Fetterman will never fully regain auditory processing, or, for that matter, the ability to speak without hindrance from the effects of the stroke.

“His speech was normal and he continues to exhibit symptoms of an auditory processing disorder which can come across as hearing difficulty,” he wrote after examining Fetterman on Friday. “Occasional words he will ‘miss’ which seems like he doesn’t hear the word but it is actually not processed properly.”

The doctor who cleared John Fetterman for “full duty in public office” and reported his health is improving since suffering a stroke in mid-May donated more than $1,300 to his campaign, according to public records.

Dr. Clifford Chen, who works at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and has been overseeing Fetterman’s recovery, released a medical report on Wednesday that shows the Senate candidate "is recovering well from his stroke and his health has continued to improve." Fetterman’s stroke has been used as a line of attack from Republicans who argue it threatens his ability to perform the duties of a senator if elected.
