Biden Sets Aside Nearly 1 Million Acres for New Offshore Wind Farms

The California plan is in addition to a proposal to build a 500,000 wind farm off the Galveston coast.

As states across the country struggle with failing power grids, the Biden administration is setting aside more than 900,000 acres to create more offshore wind farms and increase dependency on unreliable energy sources.

This week, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced a December 2022 sale to lease 373,268 acres off the California coast for wind farms, furthering President Joe Biden’s recent push to shift U.S. energy reliance away from oil and natural gas. Last year, Biden set a goal to produce 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030, which the administration claims could power 10 million homes––a mere 7 percent of U.S. households.

Last year, the Department of the Interior highlighted 30 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico as potential wind farm sites. After listening to public comments and reviewing possible impacts on marine life in the gulf, the department designated 734,688 coastal acres as a “Wind Energy Area” and ordered the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to lease the area to a wind energy company.

Well, that's nice.  I rather like wind energy, not that it can actually replace a significant amount of fossil fuel use.  If they were serious about that and had any understanding of physics, they'd be advocating nuclear power, which really could now that we have reasonably good batteries.

If the Gaia worshipers eliminate all fossil fuels, as they want in their ignorance, how are all these wind turbines Mr. Chop Chops going to be lubricated? Asking for a friend.

Or manufactured. You need coal to make the steel, petroleum for the plastics, etc...

I'm sure they only believe it's us unwashed deniers of the religion of Gaia that they expect to give up fossil fuels and live like the Flintstones while the the wealthy and connected will still have access to modern conveniences like ICE cars, private jets, energy hungry mansions(multiples, while jamming us into high rise pigeon coops).

What happened?  Did they run out of land in Texas and have to build on water now (at several times the cost)?

I'd guess water because the locals don't have jurisdiction. The Fed can run roughshod over any objections. They're bent on doing it no matter the cost or consequences. It will also further increase the cost of energy lowering everyone's standard of living even further.
