Well, that is exactly what Democrat campaign consultant David Plouffe did when speaking to Steve Kornacki on MSNBC about the Pennsylvania Senate race. The proper term would have been "pick up,"  definitely NOT "steal" especially in light of the 2020 election antics in the Keystone State.
