Some observations on yesterday's elections...
In New York City, it wasn't even close -- zombie-mammi won with an absolute majority. As I predicted here in previous posts, there was no way possible for cuomo to win. Some (about half) of Curtis Sliwa's voters shifted to cuomo, but even with [almost] 100% of them, it looks like mammi still would have edged out victory.
Nor was it close in New Jersey, in spite of pre-election polls showing a "competitive" race. sherrill thrashed Ciaterelli by about 13 percent.
Fishrrman prediction: New Jersey won't elect a Republican governor again for a long time.
In Pennsylvania, those three dem-communist Supreme Court judges all retained their seats, all getting at least 60% of the vote. Still, PA remains a purple state with a "red core" in the middle... for now.
Virginia...
There's a hard lesson to be learned here.
If you want to WIN, you DON'T:
- run a governor candidate who's black.
- run a governor candidate who's female
and finally
- run a governor candidate who wasn't even born in the USA.
You run a white USA-born male who's got a proven conservative record.
Regardless of how inspiring Winsome-Sears' record may have been, her candidacy wasn't going to cut it in a state where the red areas are still filled with "Southern Men" (a la Neil Young). I'll reckon that a lot of those boys just stayed home Tuesday.
In any case, Virginia has turned into a mid-Atlantic version of Illinois or New York, with overpopulated blue areas that can completely overwhelm the sprawling (but far less populated) southern and western counties. spanberger won by 80%+ in some of those northern areas.
Virginia is a blue state now. I don't see how it can "go back" in its current form. The smartest thing the southwest part of the state could do would be to break off and join West Virginia.
The California redistricting initiative won by almost 2-to-1.
The message here for the red states: hurry up and do the same before the 2026 elections, if you want the federal government to STAY "red".
The writing is on the wall regarding this issue.
Texas and Missouri have moved in the right direction.
Time for the other red states to fall in line.
Final thoughts...
As much of America drifts slowly towards socialism-communism, we must finally realize:
(and you're not going to like this)
Nonwhites do not value the traditional -- and "Western" -- concept of "freedom" as do whites of European heritage.
And as their numbers increase here, that will become more and more apparent.
Look at New York City, and its HIGH numbers of nonwhites who were born elsewhere.
For them, "Freedom" just doesn't count as much as does "Free STUFF".
What we just saw happen in New York, will soon be happening all over.
However...
It's too easy (and wrong) to blame "them".
As I've posted here often before (to steal an old line):
"The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars... but in ourselves..."
