Looking for an explanation, I find this brief account at the Hindustan Times. Unfortunately, it only states the obvious: “US President Joe Biden appeared confused on stage during an event on Wednesday. As Biden was addressing the Global Fund’s Seventh Replenishment Conference, he was seen, in videos widely shared on social media, confused after his speech, turning to leave the podium but stopping. Joe Biden, 79, can be then seen, looking lost and saying something which was not audible.”

Biden may or may not have been lost in a fog. He seems clearly to be awaiting instructions. Now what? That is a question that applies to all of us. While Biden appears to be awaiting instructions, we await the obligatory media fact-check explaining that all is in order.

Joe Biden wanders off lost, again

The day before yesterday, amid all the United Nations festivities, Joe Biden was addressing the Global Fund's Seventh Replenishment Conference in New York.

The event was organized to raise funds to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

Biden ended his speech by thanking all the participants for their contributions.

Biden had managed the challenging part of the exercise, reading off the teleprompter devoid of major gaffes. All he had to do was exit the stage into a safe zone away from prying eyes and camera lenses.

Anyone with functioning cognitive abilities could achieve this with ease; alas that wasn't the case with Biden.

Biden walked towards the right side of the stage to disembark but suddenly stopped looking confused and lost.

Biden appeared to be mumbling under his breath, however, his utterances were inaudible owing to the surrounding noises at the venue.

The host then read out a thank you note which attracted Biden's attention but seemed to compound his bewilderment.

He was so startled when the man at the other lectern started thanking him, he almost wet his pants. Of course, that's a distinct possibility.

Has to be intentional by his staff or someone. If *I* know that Pedo Joe needs to be rushed on the podium by helpers when he finishes anything, then his staff must certainly know that. He needs a babysitter (at the ready to shake his hand) standing behind him on stage at all times.
