Ron DeSantis, other Florida officials hit with class action lawsuit by migrants flown to Massachusetts
Gov. DeSantis flew migrants to Martha’s Vineyard last week as part of his pledge to send illegal immigrants to progressive states
By Bradford Betz | Fox News

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other state officials are facing a class action lawsuit filed by migrants who were flown to Massachusetts last week.

The case, filed in the District of Massachusetts Tuesday, names the State of Florida, the Department of Transportation, its secretary, Jared W. Perdue, as well as the governor – both in their official and personal capacities.

The lawsuit alleges that DeSantis and his others "designed and executed a premediated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting this vulnerability for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."

The lawsuit alleges that unidentified "Doe Defendants," collaborating with the named defendants, identified and targeted class members by "trolling streets outside of a migrant shelter in Texas and other similar locales, pretending to be good Samaritans offering humanitarian assistance."

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Well, it didn't take someone on the island long to find 'em an ambulance chaser...

If DeSantis took advantage of them, how about the people who let them into the country in the first place?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

If Garland becomes involved there are going to be problems for DeSantis and for that matter Abbott as well.

People who entered this country illegally to seek amnesty against persecution in their home countries are now claiming to be persecuted by the US?  You can't make this stuff up.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

DeSantis Has Receipts That Pokes Major Holes In Migrant Class Action Lawsuit

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' office responded to the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of the migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by immigration lawyers and activists by showing the migrants signed consent forms.

The lawsuit claims the flights were "a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting [the migrants] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."

"It is opportunistic that activists would use illegal immigrants for political theater. If these activists spent even a fraction of this time and effort at the border, perhaps some accountability would be brought to the Biden Administration’s reckless border policies that entice illegal immigrants to make dangerous and often lethal journeys through Central America and put their lives in the hands of cartels and Coyotes," said DeSantis' office on Tuesday.

"The transportation of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was done on a voluntary basis. The immigrants were homeless, hungry, and abandoned – and these activists didn’t care about them then," the statement continued. "Florida’s program gave them a fresh start in a sanctuary state and these individuals opted to take advantage of chartered flights to Massachusetts. It was disappointing that Martha’s Vineyard called in the Massachusetts National Guard to bus them away from the island within 48 hours."

Townhall was provided with a photo of a consent form showing the information given to the person who signed it was in English and Spanish. The person then wrote they would be leaving Texas and arriving in Massachusetts, highlighting the fact the migrants knew they would be taken to that state.

We need a better plan than "they do it, too".

If the GOP congress won't pick this up and run with it,  this will bite us in the political ass.

Someone tell me when all the sudden "illegal aliens" have constitutional rights in this country, much less place a class action suit.

This should get thrown out in 30 seconds.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Unfortunately only Governors like DeSantis seem to be doing any leadership right now in the GOP.

McConnell on GOP migrant transports: ‘well-to-do blue enclaves’ finally facing border reality
by Julia Mueller - 09/20/22 11:40 AM ET

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has sent over 10,000 migrants north to Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) sent another 1,800 migrants to D.C., and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) joined the effort earlier this month when he sent nearly 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.

Abbott's been doing this for at least six months @Free Vulcan ----  Unless and until Congress engages this issue, it will not be addressed.

Want actual leadership on this issue?  Change congress.
