"Kamala Harris' statement that 'we have a secure border' is further evidence that she’s either completely disconnected from reality or she's blatantly lying. Either way, she has no business being a heartbeat away from the presidency," Gabbard tweeted.
The former lawmaker's stern rebuke comes after the vice president made the eyebrow-raising claim about the border during an interview. "The border is secure. But we also have a broken immigration system, in particular over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed," the vice president told "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd.
There have been nearly 2 million southwest land border encounters from October 2021 through July 2022, according to data posted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Todd pressed the issue, asking Harris whether she is "confident" the the nation's border is secure............
