India overtakes former colonial ruler UK to become 5th largest world economy: 'law of Karma works'

India overtook the UK has the world's fifth largest economy in the final three months of 2021, according to the IMF

India has overtaken the United Kingdom’s spot as the world’s fifth-largest economy, according to GDP figures from the International Monetary Fund.

According to the calculation, based on US dollars, India overtook the U.K. in the final three months of 2021 and extended its lead into the first quarter.

Indiana business tycoon and Mahindra Group chairman applauded the news, saying it would have "filled the hearts" of every Indian who fought to win independence from their former colonial overlords.

"The law of karma works," Mahindra tweeted Friday. "News that would have filled the hearts of every Indian that fought hard and sacrificed much for freedom. And a silent but strong reply to those who thought India would descend into chaos. A time for silent reflection, gratitude."

Wonder where phone scamming ranks in the Indian economy?
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

There's that, along with not following all those pesky environmental requirements and such. Karma?

... with the help of offshoring American jobs and industry.  They need to thank American Globalist elites who moved so many American industries to India.

Exactly.  Per capita would be more meaningful, and on that score UK is still ahead.

You should see some of the Youtube videos I've watch on India. Travelers who document the urban slums. I have many Indian friends and have nothing but the utmost respect for them but much of the country seems like an absolutely nightmare to be honest. On the other hand it's also a very spiritual place and I respect that too.

I have a cousin, Internal medicine and surgeon who used to go to India to volunteer and give medical services to the poor, used to because the last trip after playing Russian roulette with the disease revolver she finally hit the loaded cylinder and picked up something nasty that lingers. Anyway have heard first hand what the lower castes and poor deal with.

Per capita GDP of India: $2,191 (2021)
Per capita GDP of UK: $45,839 (2021)

Only a total fool would claim this is some sort of success.

India is a complete economic basket case. Very few in the west can fathom just how poor most of these people are.

China waited three years after Mao's death, 1979, to install a market system. India kept with their mostly socialist system that punished free marketers until the '90s.
There is a burgeoning middle class in India now, but with a huge population of over a billion it's going to take India several more decades before they haul the bulk of their people out of abject poverty.
It's been a struggle just to get average Indians to employ basic sanitation methods like using indoor toilets instead of defecating in a field or outside their dwellings.
