Biden Cheers New Inflation Numbers as 'Progress'

President Joe Biden is attempting to spin new and horrendous inflation numbers as "progress."

"Today’s data show more progress in bringing global inflation down in the US economy.  Overall, prices have been essentially flat in our country these last two months: that is welcome news for American families, with more work still to do," Biden released in a statement Tuesday morning. "Gas prices are down an average of $1.30 a gallon since the beginning of the summer.  This month, we saw some price increases slow from the month before at the grocery store.  And real wages went up again for a second month in a row, giving hard-working families a little breathing room."

"It will take more time and resolve to bring inflation down, which is why we passed the Inflation Reduction Act to lower the cost of healthcare, prescription drugs and energy. And my economic plan is showing that, as we bring prices down, we are creating good paying jobs and bringing manufacturing back to America," he continued.

But what Biden says is insulting and untrue as grocery prices are up by 13 percent, along with all essential goods.

    Wow. Keep an eye on skyrocketing food costs.

    Gas prices are down, but here's why Americans are still feeling the sting of inflation:

    Food at home up 13.5% in past year - largest since 1979
    Rent is up 6.7% in past year - largest since 1986
    Electricity up 15.8% - largest since 1981

Overall, the numbers came in hotter than expected and wage growth is negative. On average, gas prices when Biden took office were $2.39 per gallon. The "Inflation Reduction Act" doesn't reduce prices for American families, it makes them worse. Democrat Senator Joe Manchin admitted this fact after helping Biden and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer push it through.

The White House is planning a celebration of President Joe Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” on Tuesday, even as consumer prices rose again in August, according to the latest numbers from the federal government.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index released Tuesday morning shows that inflation in August rose one-tenth of a percentage point from July and up 8.3 percent from the previous year.

Grocery prices continue rising fast, as prices rose 0.7 percent from July and 13.5 percent from the previous year. Restaurant prices are up 0.9 percent from July

The “Inflation Reduction Act” spends billions of dollars subsidizing green energy projects, subsidies for electric cars, and propping up government-subsidized health care.
But the cost of health insurance and energy keeps rising.

We saw the bad news about the rise in August in the CPI. That isn’t going to help the narrative that Joe Biden and the Democrats have been trying to sell that things are getting better. Stocks took a predictable tumble as a result.

But Joe Biden who has been lying about inflation since last year is still at it, even in the face of that inflation news. He couldn’t even make it past the first sentence without lying.

The price of food at home jumped 0.7 percent compared with the previous month. Over the past 12 months, grocery prices have gone up 13.5 percent.

Some of the biggest increases in food include:

    Ham up 2.5 percent from July and 9.2 percent compared with a year ago.
    Frankfurters (hot dogs) up 5.3 percent from July and 18.3 percent compared with a year ago.
    Eggs up 2.9 percent from July and 39.8 percent compared with a year ago.
    Bread up 2.2 percent from July and 16.2 percent compared with a year ago.
    Doughnuts up 2.0 percent from July and 14.1 percent compared with a year ago.
    Pickles up 4.0 percent from July and 19.4 percent compared with a year ago.
    Margarine up 7.3 percent from July and 38.3 percent compared with a year ago.
    Butter up 2.7 percent from July and 24.6 percent compared with a year ago.
    Sugar up 1.8 percent from July and 15.9 percent compared with a year ago.
    Potatoes up 3.1 percent from July and 15.2 percent compared with a year ago.
    Lettuce up 10.7 percent from July and 0.8 percent compared with a year ago.

According to Breitbart News’s John Carney, the median Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.7 percent compared with the prior month. It accelerated from June’s 0.5 percent increase. The median CPI reflects only measures in the center of CPI’s price changes.

“The unrounded figure of 0.73789 percent is the highest on record, slightly above the previous record of 0.73078 percent set in June,” Carney wrote. “This is equivalent to an annual rate of inflation of 9.2 percent. That is the highest on record.”

The median CPI is 6.7 percent, the biggest 12-month rise since 1983, when the metric began to be recorded 39 years ago.
