I'm still Looking for the guys lung laying on the ground next to the perp?

@Wingnut Not gonna find it. All a 9mm handgun round does is create a 9mm hole in one side of the body and out the other side.
Yeah,it is usually fatal due to the damage it does while traveling through the body, but a lot of it's energy is lost the instant it opens the hole in the bac
Pretty much anything you shoot someone with is capable of killing them. That is not in question. What IS in question is "How long the person or persons you just shot will be capable of returning fire or injuring/killing you in some other way?"
The best solution is the combination that has the largest diameter possible combined with enough velocity to make a slight bulge in the skin of your target's back before it stops moving.
The best solution anyone has came up with in since the beginning of the 20th Century is called "The 45 ACP".
Granted, there is no such thing as a commercial 45 ACP load that you can buy anywhere that will perform my my custom handloads in my custom 1911,but any you buy are more effective than anything else on the market.
BTW,for those of you who don't know much about ballistics, handguns, and related subjects,do NOT get experimental when it comes to handloading. I can't emphasize this enough. Things can get VERY dangerous VERY quickly if you don't truly understand what you are doing. Stick with commercial rounds you can buy at any gun store.
Another thing to consider when shooting criminals with handloads is the VERY real possibility of a lawsuit by the deceased family for your creating "special killer bullets that kill instead of disable". Don't forget, you will be facing a jury that knows less about ballistics than they do nuclear energy.
