Twice-deported illegal alien sentenced in murder of 6-year-old girl

On September 9, the 56-year-old Mexican national Maximino Delgado Lagunas was sentenced to 15 years to life for murdering a 6-year-old Orange County girl. Lagunas was found guilty of one felony count of second-degree murder on June 22.

Despite having been convicted in 2015 for drunk driving, on February 17, 2018, Lagunas got behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level nearly three times California's legal limit of 0.8%. Around 2:15 p.m., Lagunas drove onto the opposite sidewalk where Grace Aguilar was playing.

Lagunas, a twice-deported illegal alien, ran Grace Aguilar down and then smashed into a parked vehicle.

The child died of her injuries.

Lagunas, whose blood alcohol was reportedly .22%, told police that his brakes were not working and that he had lost control of his vehicle.

While he would otherwise have faced voluntary manslaughter charges, his prior conviction enabled prosecutors to upgrade the charges to second-degree murder................

Unfortunately true.  He should have been deported in the first place.

It is so sad to continue to read time and time again of American citizens falling victim to the hands of ILLEGALS!

Strict deportation of ALL ILLEGALS and a wall is very much needed.  That should have happened over a decade ago.

If this had happened in my neck of the woods, the guy would never serve a day in prison. Very likely never would have been tried either. Wouldn't have made it that far.

We should not be deporting a single illegal until they serve the entirety of their prison sentence for violating immigration laws.  Six months for first offenders.  Two years for second offenses.  It does no good to deport them if there is no incentive to dissuade their return.  The perp here should have 4½ years added to his sentence for illegal entry.

IF we had a complete wall that was manned with armed guards who were allowed to fire upon those entering illegally we wouldn't have nearly the problems that we do at our border.  Even with the partial wall that we have, the border needs to be manned with armed guards who can fire upon anyone crossing illegally.  A couple incidents and the word would get out that the U.S. has a zero tolerance policy for illegal entry. Yes it is harsh, but how harsh is it that a child is dead because of our broken immigration system??

Jail time?  Many are caught and released and are given a court date to show up and never show.

If they do serve jail time they are afterwards released only to commit crimes again. Many join gangs while in prison. The only lesson that they learn is that while imprisoned they get free meals and medical attention.

DEPORT THEM ALL.  BUILD THE DANG WALL!!! A child dying at the hands of an illegal is not an isolated incident!
