Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she wasn’t sure if she wanted to marry her now-fiancé because he’s white.

Ocasio-Cortez met her fiancé Riley Roberts at Boston University when they were both 19, according to GQ. The pair eventually began dating a few years later and have been together since. Ocasio-Cortez recalls how late last year the couple was discussing their New Year’s resolutions when Roberts brought up an engagement.

“It’s my resolution that perhaps we can be engaged by the end of the year,” Ocasio-Cortez recalled Roberts saying.

“And I said, ‘Oh, really? Well, you’re going to have to woo me. You’re going to have to convince me, after all this time, why I should.'”

GQ described the conversation with Ocasio-Cortez as the congresswoman expressing reluctancy to marry Roberts. “She wasn’t positive that an intercultural, interracial relationship would be the right fit for her,” GQ reported. The socialist firebrand New York Democrat speculated about the possibilities of her launching a future White House bid in a wide-ranging cover interview with GQ magazine published Wednesday.

Ocasio-Cortez said that while she tries to hold onto the belief that anything is possible, her experience in Congress has “given me a front-row seat to how deeply and unconsciously, as well as consciously, so many people in this country hate women.”

“And they hate women of color,” the 32-year-old added.

“People ask me questions about the future. And realistically, I can’t even tell you if I’m going to be alive in September. And that weighs very heavily on me. And it’s not just the right wing. Misogyny transcends political ideology: left, right, center,” the democratic socialist continued.

“I admit to sometimes believing that I live in a country that would never let that happen.”

Of course. Neither a man's strength of character nor his personal virtue matter at all to women such as this. They are as meaningless to her as ancient hieroglyphs in a long-forgotten language.

It's all about her.

Instead, she determines a mate's attractiveness only in terms of his innate physical characteristics and of course, his willingness to submit to her whims. 

Men of any knowledge and experience instantly recognize women of this ilk.

And if they are at all smart and self-respectful: they run away. And they would be wise to do so quickly.

Have you taken a stroll through the dingy back alleys of social media the past couple of days? Then it is entirely likely you have been faced with the image of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez emblazoned on Gentleman’s Quarterly Magazine in an arresting image. Literally, there she appears, in couture fashions, while seemingly replicating her recent bout of PR, where she was allegedly carted off in non-existent handcuffs. ...

Throughout the gushing profile, there are more images, where Alex From the Bronx is posing throughout the D.C. area in self-serious, hyper-dramatic poses. Bear in mind, this is the woman who verbally recoils at the suggestion that anyone is paying unapproved attention to her, all while she willingly throws herself in front of any lens and fills up data packets with her endless stream of social media offerings.

The only thing that is more grating to her than people paying attention is if people refuse to pay attention to her.

But for all the mirth seen in these garish glamour shots, there is more amusement in her article.  ...
