What no picture of the Queen giving a Nazi salute? As one can tell, I am/was no fan of the monarchy.

In principle, I am no fan of Monarchy, either. Few are ever worthy of the power bestowed upon them, symbolic or otherwise, and often the best one could hope for is a benign monarch. For the English, however, it is a point of relative continuity in their culture.
Elizabeth will be better remembered than many.

President Joe Biden plans to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in the coming weeks, according to reports.

The president stopped by the British Embassy in Washington Thursday evening to pay his respects and said earlier that day that the queen "defined an era."

That picture was taken when she was a small child. I'm guessing she was just imitating something she'd seen in a photo or a newsreel. What she did during the war against the Nazis to encourage the British was admirable and inspiring.

Well now; if Chaz III really was interested in "slimming down" the effect of the monarchy on the U.K., he would ask that the currency in circulation not be recalled simply to change the pictures, and that his picture only be placed on new currency as and when it is printed to replace old worn-out currency.

Queen Elizabeth II, the only British monarch who resided on the throne for 70 years, died Sept. 8 at Balmoral, her royal castle in Scotland, one year after her husband, Prince Philip, passed away at age 99.

Elizabeth, who was 96, and Philip had four kids: King Charles III, 73; Princess Anne, 72; Prince Andrew, 62; and Prince Edward, 58.

Prince Harry’s Solo Departure From Balmoral Suggests the Bitter Royal Feud Has Outlived the Queen

Prince Harry departed Balmoral Castle on Friday morning the same way he had arrived—alone.

The prince, who spent just over 12 hours at Balmoral, has become estranged from his family since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, left their status as working royals and gave a series of interviews condemning the family and the institution, and making accusations of racism.

A clearly upset Harry arrived at Balmoral at 8 p.m. Thursday, 90 minutes after the queen’s death was announced.

Although only Charles and his sister Anne were said to be at the queen’s bedside when she died, peacefully, yesterday afternoon, the announcement of her death was delayed until other members of the family had gathered at Balmoral.

It wil be interesting to see if the King reduces it to a "Firm of Seven" now that the Queen has passed.

The pomp and circumstance of the White House, the First Lady, and the State of the Union more than slightly resemble Buckingham Palace, the Royal family, and the Speech from the Throne.

This royal appeal goes deeper than simple politics, however. As the penultimate symbol of Britishness and hierarchy, Elizabeth II became a paragon of continuity and order. Even in our liberal republic, we sense a need for some kind of an ordered society. Americans can’t get enough of shows like The Crown or Downton Abbey, which show sympathetic characters make full throated appeals to an old school Toryism. An admiration for Elizabeth II transcends her commendable personal qualities, reaching to a deep and natural fascination with institutional longevity, cultural rootedness, and an enduring order. ...

For multiple generations of Americans, she has gracefully reflected to us something that we feel a longing for in our own civic life: the necessity of religion, a commitment to the common good, and a defense of the timeless. Now that she has lain down her charge, to quote an older royal Charles than her son, she goes “from a corruptible to an incorruptible Crown.”
