The green agenda coalition now is demanding the elimination of natural gas furnaces and appliances in homes nationwide, a move that could trigger replacements costs of $12,000 for homeowners.

And the plan is being slammed as representing a federal government "out of control," according to a state lawmaker.

The plan is being pushed by the Sierra Club and dozens of other "environmental" groups, who are demanding the Environmental Protection Agency ban the use of natural gas for home heating – everywhere in the country.

The groups' petition claims that the federal agency absolutely has to regulate "deadly pollution" from the energy source.

And those of us who live in rural areas where the politicians and the wealthy tend to have vacation homes need to make sure we keep them IN the cities where they are creating the riots,and not allow them to escape to rural areas to avoid the violence.

The replacement cost is a pittance, even though it would require my home be rewired and a complete change in heating in that 100+ year old edifice (which has been using natural gas for the past 70 years).

But, even more insidiously, what do we do with all the natural gas produced as a byproduct of oil production?  Because without oil and the chemical feedstocks from it, there will be no need for electricity in a decade--no roads to run the electric cars on, and no insulation for the wiring.

It's time to kick these mewling nitwits to the curb and get on with the program.

My stack of wood I was working on is nearly 6 feet tall now... a small mountain of heat. Used the boys to get the source stack cut up mostly today.... Got a lot ready to haul over (and split) to add to the pile (love sharp chainsaw blades and managed to keep them sharp/no dirt dives)... then we will have to move some older wood around to proper places close to house to burn this Winter, and move this new wood in the designated areas to dry. I always like to put down a termite spray to the ground first (may try a tarp on the ground this year also).

Not only is natural gas commonly a by-product of oil production (one which will doubtless have to be sequestered somewhere or liquefied and exported), but in the Northern Plains States where temperatures commonly get 30 degrees or more below zero in winter, it is a primary home heating fuel. Electricity cannot replace that, Hell, it can't even charge all the EVs that are supposed to be running around in the near future.

In this climate, heat is not optional. You have it or you die.

From the true scientific perspective Methane, (Natural Gas) is the ultimate green fuel.  CO2 losses per BTU are significantly less than creating KWH at your local power plant, or combustion of other hydrocarbon sources.  In fact technology exists for making gasoline from NG,via catalyst and modified alkylation.

FWIW, I always suggest to watermelons to look up the Malinkovich Cycle and Maunder Minimum if they really want to take a scientific look at global warming and global cooling.
