National Archives says at least 700 pages of classified materials seized from Trump’s home

The Justice Department seized at least 700 pages of classified materials when it first recovered documents from former President Trump’s Florida home in January, according to a letter released by the National Archives on Tuesday.

An exchange between the custodians for presidential records and Trump’s attorneys, released after it was first obtained by a conservative news outlet, indicates the former president’s legal team spent months attempting to block the FBI and the intelligence community from reviewing the documents to assess the potential national security fallout.

It also reveals that among the materials were those at “the highest levels of classification, including Special Access Program (SAP) materials.”

The May letter from Archives also reiterates a warning first relayed by the Justice Department (DOJ) the month before.

“Access to the materials is not only necessary for purposes of our ongoing criminal investigation, but the Executive Branch must also conduct an assessment of the potential damage resulting from the apparent manner in which these materials were stored and transported and take any necessary remedial steps,” Debra Steidel Wall, acting archivist of the United States, wrote in relaying a message from DOJ’s National Security Division.

Steve Doocy Presses Jared Kushner On The 300 Classified Documents At Mar-A-Lago

“Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy pressed former White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner on the reported 300 classified documents stored in Mar-a-Lago.

The New York Times reported late Monday that the government recovered over 300 documents marked as classified that had been stored in Mar-a-Lago once former President Donald Trump left office. When Doocy questioned Kushner about his father-in-law’s reasoning for keeping a large quantity of classified material, Kushner responded the media had a tendency to jump to conclusions.

“Why would the former president have that many classified things at Mar-a-Lago?” Doocy asked.

“I’m not familiar with what exactly the contents were,” Kushner replied. “But what I’ll just say from my personal experience is that in the transition, we had a very innocent meeting with the Russian ambassador and then four months later, you’re reading that the intel agencies are leaking to the Washington Post that we requested this secret back channel. Then the New York Times and CNN go crazy for a weekend, accusing us of treason. And then it turns out, such a thing never happened.”

“You have to be very careful with what you read and obviously just wait for the facts to develop,” he continued.

NYT claims Trump had ‘over 300 classified docs at Mar-a-Lago’, half were already returned by Trump

The New York Times is reporting that unnamed sources are asserting former President Trump took over 300 classified documents when he left the White House and that is what triggered the Justice Department to raid Mar-a-Lago.

According to the Times, the first 150 classified documents were returned to the National Archives in January. More were returned in June and what was left was seized in the raid on the former president’s Florida residence.

In the Mar-a-Lago raid, FBI agents reportedly took 26 boxes from Trump’s home. That included 11 sets of material marked classified according to media reports. One set allegedly had the highest level of classification which was designated as top secret/sensitive compartmented information.

It is unknown exactly what was in the so-called classified material but the left is beside themselves over it. The receipt from federal investigators who ransacked the Florida residence listed classified documents connected to French president Emmanuel Macron and documents detailing the clemency Trump granted to Roger Stone.
