The key takeaway: A recent lengthy Associated Press story demonstrates how Canada has normalized euthanasia and a culture of death, in some cases as a way for the health system to save on expensive medical care.
Remember how the left poo-pooed all the "conspiracy" talk of death panels under Obamacare? Yeah, well, those weren't empty conspiracy theories, just clear-eyed people thinking through to the necessary logical conclusions of Obamacare.
The unfortunate truth of this day and age is that those who are routinely labeled "conspiracy theorists" are all so often just those who can see the impending consequences of seemingly benign changes long before they become evident to the masses.
It has become popular to malign and marginalize individuals for their foresight, rather than heed those warnings and seek to prevent those consequences.
When the predicted consequences are made manifest, those who were decried for pointing them out first, either by virtue of their ability to indicate how small changes could lead to big differences later or by possession of tidbits of specialized information which were not common knowledge, retain the stigma of being branded, maligned, and marginalized, even though events proved them correct.
In this way, those who control public information, and thus public opinion through censorship, marginalization, and simply shouting down those who do not march in lockstep with their narrative, increasingly steer "conventional wisdom" away from truth, and any semblance of wisdom.
The fonts of knowledge have been poisoned by the ichor of political and pecuniary ambition, and the former bastions of learning and discussion reduced to little more than clearinghouses for the babblings of the malicious and misinformed.
Even the halls of 'hard science' have been broached, data fudged, concealed and destroyed in direct contravention of the very principles of scientific investigation, not following the evidence to a conclusion, but seeking that which would support a predetermined outcome at the expense of truth, if need be.
We have come our full enlightened circle to return to "If it floats, it's a witch! and must be burned at the stake! and if it doesn't, it's dead, anyway."
For all its hope of enlightenment, the Age yields again to Darkness...
and the books will be burned for light.
