US government workers told to shelter in place amid surge in Tijuana violence
Mayor of Tijuana, Mexico, claimed at least 10 vehicles had been set on fire
By Timothy H.J. Nerozzi | Fox News

U.S. government employees in Tijuana, Mexico are being instructed to shelter in place after a sudden outbreak of violent crime.

Mexican law enforcement is investigating a series of vehicle fires and reports of violence in the area. The sudden outbreak of apparent arson has spooked officials and raised questions on the motive.

The U.S. government has ordered employees to stay sheltered and out of public places as a precaution.

"The U.S. Consulate General Tijuana is aware of reports of multiple vehicle fires, roadblocks and heavy police activity in Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosarito, Ensenada and Tecate," the consulate said. "U.S. government employees have been instructed to shelter in place until further notice."

Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada, Tecate, and other Mexican border cities explode into orgy of cartel violence
By Monica Showalter

Less than 20 miles away from where I'm writing this in San Diego, the next city over is exploding into some kind of Ukraine-like hellscape.

According to local station CBS8:

Quote

TIJUANA, Baja California — The United States Consulate General in Tijuana is instructing employees to shelter in place after unrest in the region began on Friday.

The U.S. consulate is warning government employees near Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate to shelter in place until further notice due to vehicle fires, roadblocks and heavy police activity.

U.S. citizens are being told to avoid the area, seek secure shelter, and monitor local media for updates.

It must be still on the national-news radar as a local story, maybe something that happens all the time, this being Tee Jay.

But it's no local story.  It's the logical consequence of Joe Biden's open borders policy, which has made control of Tijuana and all border cities worth fighting for to Mexico's brutal cartels.  Apparently, three have laid claim to these cities — and they are big ones.  TJ is bigger than San Diego, which is America's sixth largest city, for one, putting these cities under an unprecedented siege.

Here are some Twitter photos.

As the world deglobalizes and we focus more on our own country and our common borders with neighbors the USA is going to have to evaluate our new defense priorities. At some point we are going to have to deal with the cartels using our military as we did with ISIS. Our number one trading partner is Mexico. We need Mexico to be stabilized.
